Hi.

My 1972 Honda CB350 Four. My 1st bike and a real sweetie.

I did many thousands of miles in Australia on this bike (including dropping it 3 times, all bar one incident my own stupid fault). I took it from Far North Queensland to Sydney and on half way to Melbourne and back up North in 1980, around 3000 miles each way…

Went like a bird the whole trip except for when I put the fuel on to reserve & forgot I’d done so. Ran out on the highway in the middle of nowhere in South Queensland and hid the bike in the bush until I could hitch to town to buy fuel and hitch back. Some friendly local bikers helped me out to my eternal gratitude.

My Honda CB350F had dropped bars and 4-into-1 extractors with a megaphone without baffles. It really wasn’t rideable for any distance like that however, as at 10,000 RPM it literally howled like a banshee.

For long trips I dropped a fresh beer can into the megaphone with a bolt across behind it to keep it there. That worked a treat and in 5 years of riding I think I only burned through 3 (steel) beer cans, which were never any problem to replace .

Thanks to Les Elmer for these lovely old pictures.

Had one the same as this, same color as well, great bike it had 4-into-1 pipes also. Worst move I ever did was to sell it to a mate cheap.
