This bike was used by Imre Borsay an Hungarian emigrate in France after the invasion of Hungary by Russians. He never had a car and he used the Macchi from 1969 to 2011 as he dies this year. He totalizes 1 million kilometers! The bike was saved from “broyeuse” in-extremis and is now preserved by an Aermacchi’s collector. I took the picture some years ago at a flymarket near Paris where I saw him sometimes, looking for something about astronomy of he was fond of.
Sorry for my bad english. Regards (I have a blog zhumoriste.over-blog.com on french bikes. You may have a look at it!).

Many thanks to Jean Bourdache for this great picture.

  1. What a fantastic picture, it tells a life story of a man with his beloved bike….

  2. a real motorcyclist, used the machine for transportation not for image or recreation, the bike is an early model C “Ala Rossa”, I have driven a 1966 model H for nearly 30 years, one of the most reliable bikes ever built, the European models were much more attractive than the Harley-Davidson Sprints sold in the US

  3. Lovely picture I would like to use it for my book Woodall’s guide to useful classics. Is this possible?Or does anyone have a photo of a ss350 preferably with someone in the photo as well, since I like to have people in as part of the story.
