1967 Velocette Thruxton Endurance Racer Pictures
Add Your Photos! This stunning endurance racer was bought in France in 1990 and brought back to the UK the same year. It took part in 24 Bol d’Or endurance events in 1967, 68 and 69 – completing the event in 67 and 69 only. A Thruxton of the same build won the production TT in 1967. The Thruxton was the last of the great machines to come from the Hall Green Velocette factory which finally closed its gates in 1971. What a fuel tank!

It’s pictures like this that fuel a magical feeling of impending joy, like one has as a child on Christmas eve soaking up a twinkling tree, the satin ribbon on a big box reflecting red and gold…
Damn now you tell me!! After watching my hero Geoff Duke take all on at Oulton Park I
was planning ? as They say “in your dreams” to be the new owner of the Gilera 4 ah well I only had about Four Pound Ten left after the races anyway, but boy that machine sounded great!
Frank.
They just don’t make them like this any more. It baffles me that no bored millionaires have re-started Velocette and started building bikes like this again for a whole new generation.
