    Up to & including 1962 production racers were 4 speed, from 1963 on they had 5 gears
    Could be very fragile, i.e con-rods breaking, cured later with a different design / maker.
    wire would pull out of condenser, it was a little too short & therefore tight & with a little vibration, that was it – stop.
    I know because I suffered a good number of breakdowns in both 62 & 63, sometimes when leading a race
