Bulgarian motorcycle producer made motorcycles in 50, 75 and 250cc category. Production began at 1957 and was ceased at 1975.
There were several models of 250: M1, M2 and C2

  1. These Balkan motorcycles look very similar to 250′s sold in Brazil during the 1960′s . The bikes sold in Brazil were sold as Monarks . I seem to remember they used Jawa engines . I’d like to know what engines the Balkan used ? Ian Ross

    • The engines were copies of the Jawa “Perak” (which were copies of the DKW) but actually made in Bulgaria. After WW2 the DKW 250 plans were released as part of the War Reparations Act and pretty much every country in the world copied them under various brand names.
