Thanks to Vincent Moss of Cardiff for these pictures of his 1960 BSA A10 Golden Flash special.  It has had a  full SRM engine conversion, valves seats for unleaded fuel, 12 volt conversion and an SRM clutch modification. It is finished in Nutley Blue with RGS guards.  Very smart.

Hi there. Beautifully restored bike. I am hoping you can give me a few insights. I am in South Africa, but my son is currently in Birmingham to sort out the estate of his late great uncle, who had a 1963 (I believe) Golden Flash. Apparently he used to race it, and it is basically complete; albeit with headlight, etc removed in favour of a racing full fairing. It has not been used for at least the last 40 years, so is obviously not in the greatest condition. My son is considering the prospect of bringing the bike back to SA, where we will restore it and keep it as a family heirloom. This is where I have a few questions:

    1. He will have to “buy” it from the estate, so we require an aproximate value
    2. What would the aproximate value of the bike be once restored to a condition similar to yours?
    3. How freely available are spare parts, and are costs of such parts prohibitive?

I would appreciate it if you could contact me per e-mail – thalstead@telkomsa.net.

    Kind regards
    Tony
