The start of great things….  This 65cc Cucciolo (Little Puppy) was the first motorcycle built by Ducati as a strap-on unit to a bicycle frame.  Ducati made the engine and it became popular with bike lovers who bought it in a kit form .  Cucciolos completed in the ISDT and other endurance events gaining world records in 24 hour and distance events.  This machine is an ex-works 65cc racing machine found in a Italian auto-jumble and restored by one of Italy’s top experts.  The frame would have been specially made for racing in the then popular small capacity class.  This very interesting bike was on show on the Ducati Owners Club of GB stand at the 2005 Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show in Stafford.
