1943 Ariel W/NG Pictures

Thanks to David Scott for these pictures. "It’s a 1943 W/NG, all the correct stuff except the toolboxes, speedo and battery carrier. The battery carrier on their is very well made out of dural,  as is the number plate, far too well made for a bikers handiwork, I have a theory that being black it may have been a French police bike, they did use them immediately after the war. It’s clearly been stripped to bare metal before painting black so the other possibility is it was "civilianised" by Prde and Clarke?"

    Oh, really? Take a look at this Enfield V-twin – designed and built by ” a biker’s handiwork”. Have a look at the crankcases alone, which he designed, cast and machined himself.

    Just because YOU can’t do work to the same standard as was done on your battery carrier, it doesn’t mean that nobody else can.
