Thanks to Will Millar of BC, Canada for this picture of his father circa 1942. And also thanks to Rich Payne for confirmning that the bike is a Norton 16H.
Rich also points out “Interestingly, it seems to be fitted with a 4.00 x 18 front tyre. There have long been rumours of the RAF having received 16H outfits fitted with 18″ wheels rather than the standard 19″. The wider tyres would have made sense of course. The RAF certainly had WM20 outfits with 18″ wheels (parts books exist) but none have turned up for 16Hs”
  • Manufacturer: Norton

  • Engine: 500cc Sidevalve
