1938 Levis 350cc Pictures

My Dad aged 20 and his brand new 1938 Levis 350 of which he was inordinatley proud as this photo shows.

This bike was “impressed” (i.e. for the war effort) by the Australian Government for use as a despatch machine in WWII. When my Dad asked after it post-war, hopinmg to get it back, he was told it was apparently ‘lost’, left somewhere in the Western Desert of North Africa, as a result of the to-and-fro advance and retreat that was the North African Tobruk, El Alamein etc campaign against Erwin Rommel’s Afrika Corps..
