Can anyone help Alan Mounce identify the bike his father is riding in this picture? He believes the picture was taken around 1930.

    Hi, I have just been looking at some photos of some Motobecane motorcycles, a French manufacturer and this bike maybe one. I have some photos that maybe of use.

  2. Almost certainly a c1926 2 3/4 h.p. (350cc) side-valve AJS, perhaps a G5 like the one pictured elsewhere on this site http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/pictures/1926-ajs-model-g5/ If you zoom in you can pick up points of similarity: muffler and perforated tail pipe, side-spring forks with dampers at the back of the top links, details of mudguards and numberplates etc.
