This bike, on display at the National Motorcycle Museum, is Norton’s first recorded sporting machine.  As one of the most powerful machines of its day, it competed in Norton’s first sporting venture – a Birmingham MCC hill-climb at Rednal, Shropshire. Engine: 985cc (80 x 98mm) automatic valve v-twin with Longuemare carb and magneto ignition Tranmission: direct drive by belt with auxilliary pedals. Power: 8hp Top speed: 45mph
