Many thanks David Baum for this picture of his 50cc 1963 Honda 50 Sport.

The Honda 50 Sport (type C110 and C111) variant of the Super Cub, laid out the basics of all future Honda SS50 models. It had a pressed steel frame, hydraulic front/rear forks, a 49 cc OHV four-stroke engine. The cylinder was laid horizontally to optimise cooling. The final drive was chain running in an enclosed chain case. The S50 featured an all-new OHC alloy head engine.

  3. Hello,
Very nice picture of the C110. – I have the same bike, same model, also in white.
The text says that it has a OHC (overhead camshaft) engine. That is not correct.
It has a OHV (overhead valve) engine.
It has pushrods and a lower placed chamshaft that operates the valves by pushrods.

Honda started to use OHC engines in 1965,(on the C65 and S65 models) but the C110 model kept its OHV pushrod engine throughout its full production span, from 1960 to 1968.
