Velocette Venom Pictures

The Velocette Venom was produced between 1955 and 1968. In 1961, the Venom set a world record by traveling an average speed of 100 mph for 24 hours. This record is still held by the Venom.

The Venom and the Viper were introduced together in 1955. Production was convenient and simple with the high cams and short push rods.

The Venom was a real beauty with its chrome and black bodywork and gold pin striping. Many new innovations made this machine easy to manufacture and a joy to ride. The clutch and suspension were easy to use and the Venom became the best-selling motorcycle made by the Velocette Company.

In 1958, the Venom Scrambler was introduced for the American crowd of off-roaders and in 1960; the Clubman was manufactured for racing. The Velocette Company went out of business in 1968.
