Douglas Dragonfly

The Douglas Dragonfly was born in 1955 from the Douglas Motorcycle Company in the UK. The company experienced financial hardship following WWII and concentrated on producing only flat twin models.

They had a proven success rate at the Isle of Mann TT races and Douglas was a proven leader in this field since 1906.

To update this classic, Douglas strove for a modernized frame of welded tubing along with a strengthened and streamlined engine. The resulting Dragonfly model was Douglas’s last attempt to succeed in the competitive motorcycle manufacturing business.

Sadly, the machine was heavy and not as powerful as its competition. In the end, only 1600 Dragonfly motorcycles ever went through production.
