Many thanks to Scott Jackson-Jones for this picture of his uncle, Charlie Sanby, Uncle, a couple of years before he died sitting astride his Seeley.  If anyone has any photos of Charlie, Scott would really like to see them, so drop me an email and I will forward it to him.

Great pic of charlie i think its snett or pembrey early 90s…with him are ralph whitehouse…ralphs son david….and i am the guy at david james’s caravan…was with charlie at all his last meetings…and the isle of man classic races he raced in….what a guy and a really dry sense of humour….good memorys..

  4. The likes of Charlie, with Percy Tait, Mick Grant …. and the rest of the ‘boys in the band’ were every bit my heroes, as I traipsed around the UK circuits in the 60′s and 70′s.

Here’s Charlie racing with Percy, Stan Woods and Tony Jeffries at Cadwell Park in 1973.

    Always remembered :)

Not quite right here guys … (and unless you were there at the time.. you would not actually realize it.. )

I worked with Charlie at Bryants of Biggleswade during the 1970′s ( 1973 – 1978) and bought from Bryants and raced his Suzuki TR 750 ..that he achieved a 3rd place with at the Classic TT in 1975 ..this picture is a bit misleading.. this is after he has actually left Bryants and set up on his own ( Circa the mid Eighties.. ) you can see the “SANDBY MOTERCYCLES” stickers on the fairing ..

However he is sitting on a Colin Seeley framed(Norton I beleive).. but with Bryants of Biggleswade leathers on .. and (as ever Wallie .. looking on .. )
