During the early 1960′s I witness the introduction of Honda motorcycles to America and as a teenager I became a fan! My folks thought it wouldn’t the best thing for me to have a motorcycle so I read all the publications and dream about all the adventures if I had one. I remember reading the December issue of Cycle World and on the back cover was the newly introduced Honda CB160, it was love at first sight………..

Fast forward 46 years and six motorcycles later I finally got my 1964 Honda CB160. It’s been a labor of love to bring it back to what I remember as a teenager, and when I ride it Iam 17 years old one again…….

  1. Great pictures. In 1965 I traded my Honda 50 Sport for the new CB160. It was a great motorcycle, rode it for two years before I went off to the war.

I have a few photos of the bike, but not the quality you have here. Looks great! Thanks for sharing.

    • David, Our stories are very similar! I wanted the CB160 in 1966 but was unable to purchase because of the cost, May, 1966 I purchased a new black Honda Sport 50! Had a wonderful spring that year riding with my first girl friend who had a new white Honda C90 Cub model. That July I joined the Air Force because I was about to drafted. Since that Sport 50 I’ve owned seven motorcycles and June 13, 2009 I finally got my Honda CB160 on ebay. It has been a labor of love, when i ride it i am a teenager once again! You can see additional photo’s of my 1964 CB160 on Flickr.com, my handle is “Simbayancy”, hope you enjoy!
