Many thanks to John for these pictures of his stunning 1934 Sunbeam 95R This machine was a works machine from John Marston experimental workshop and the last race model to be developed by Marstons and the last machine by the hands of John Greenwood. Specification:

  • 80×98 493cc deleloping 30hp
  • 8.5;1 high domed piston, alloy connecting rod and caged roller big end
  • High lift S cam with special light cam followers
  • Amal TT 10/32 down draft carurettor,
  • Amal sports levers and quick action throttle
  • Smiths 120mph Speedometer (nick named the soup plate)
  • BTH racing magneto
  • Sunbeam close ratio positve stop gearbox with rocking pedal gear change
  • 8″ drum brakes front and rear, front with cooling fins
  • 21″ frontwheel and 20″rear
  • Dunlop rubber saddle with race pad
  • You can also see the results of John’s super restoration of the the Sunbeam 95L after the disastrous fire at the National Motorcycle Museum.

      Looking for photos of correct Sunbeam 95L…Just beginning restoration of relatively complete 95L just aquired and need photos to help me get it right!
