1926 Douglas Brooklands Special Pictures

This is one of 5 special Douglas motorcycles built for C J Atkins to race at Brooklands. Successful from the start, the machine was later owned by Dr Joe Bayley and fettled by Len Cole for hill climbs and sprints. Success continued when ridden by George Brown, Barry Briggs, Phil Manzano and many others.

  1. This is not the Bayley/Coles Douglas this is the Taylor/Manzano Douglas

    I agree with Someone Else. The machine is the Bayley/Coles Douglas. The Taylor/Manzano Douglas has a different style oil tank and the front brake assembly is unpainted. Anybody know when these two machines will be seen in action again?
