Your bike looks exactly like my 1924 Royal Enfield 201A ladies or gentlemens model as the manual states. It has a 225cc 2-cycle motor and a 2-speed gearbox shifted by left side foot. Some were shifted by a hand lever.

  4. I think this bike is a 1926 201A looks like a hand shift model

    • Oops should have added, the 1924 model had rim type brake on the rear, chain drive on left hand side, swept back handlebars.
This bike clearly has a drum brake & straight handlebars a per the1926 model.
Royal Enfield were known to change engineering, magnetos, gear type etc every couple of years, but you have an idea

  5. Thanks George and Susie for your comments.
I have also found evidence that suggests the registration number would be more likely to have been issued in 1926.
