Can anyone help Colm O’Brien identify the bike his grandfather is riding in this? The photo was probably taken at some time in the 1920’s or ‘30’s (or perhaps a little later). His name was Harry Ekins (1897-1969) and he lived in Dublin.

Don’t know what make the bike is but the engine is one of the early 269cc Villiers two-stroke, readily identified by the triangular exhaust attachment to the cylinder, the style of outside flywheel and the Villiers double barrel silencer system.

Unfortunately this proprietary engine was sold to so many different motorcycle builders that identifying the exact machine is very difficult.
