image

Thanks to Carrick Watson for this picture.  It was taken a few years ago in the old Argyll Car Factory, not far from Glasgow, where a small Car Museum was opened up.  Sadly it has now closed down and all the contents scattered around.  The photo shows a Sunbeam that was owned and raced by Joe Potts from Bellshill in Scotland and also one of the JP 500cc Race Cars he Built in the early days of this Formulae. Joe was a friend of Carrick’s father and he was able to visit the Garage in Bellshill that he ran.  Carrick’s own family ran a Garage in nearby Airdrie selling AJS and Matchless along with Vauxhall Cars  & Bedford Trucks He was the Sponsor of Bob McIntyre and prepared all his TT Bikes in Bellshill where he built the first Wind Tunnel as far as I know in Scotland to test them
