Douglas T35 Pictures

Thanks to Pete Beach for this picture of his father’s bike.  It’s a late 1940′s 350cc T35, the first transverse twin made by Douglas and later to become their hallmark.  The engine and gearbox unit were mounted in a duplex frame with pivoted-fork rear suspension and short leading links at the front.  Both were unusual in that the suspension medium was torsion bars, and the rear ones ran alongside the lower frame tubes.  Pete’s father described as being "like riding a bed"
