Many thanks to John Cribb of Oz for these picture of his BSA.  John says “I restored this 1936 Y13 BSA 750 V Twin 37 years ago and these pictures were taken a few weeks ago. The machine goes better than it looks. It is the same bike that is featured in Alan Puckett’s Book “Classic Bikes”. I am the second owner from new. The machine was a basket case when I started restoring it in 1969 and had it on the road in 1971. I had to machine most engine components at the time, hand make the exhaust etc.  The paint work has not been changed. The side car is called a Dusting side car and info is available off the net. It is the heavy duty model and was originally used as a Police side car.”

  1. I own the BSA Soper which is in the book. They have it listed as a 1929. It is actually a 1930 (S30-13). The bike resides in Perth Western Australia. I would be intersted in finding out where all the other bikes ended up that featured in the book.

    • Hi Glen! I am the owner of the Y 13 featured in the site. I don’t look on the site very often however its great to see that this magnificent site is available for all to see. The picture was taken on the banks of the Murray at our shack near Blanchtown. SA. As for the location of the other bikes I do know of the whereabouts of a couple here in Adelaide.

  2. Wonderful machine John, one I would very much like to have myself for a project to restore, but they are very hard to find !!

  3. I am the owner of the BSA Y 13 with SS sidecar
