John Boswell, how long did you work at D W Thomas ? I have A Francis Barnett Plover from 1958 which originated from there, am looking online trying to find some info about the place and got to this page.

I had a 1954 T 110 my twin brother had 1956 6 T. It did not have front brake like the T110 has .Did yours come new a T110 type front brake

I have a photo of my Dad on a Triumph Thunderbird with the registration NV0 982, it would be about 1952, I was wondering if it would be possible to trace this bike and how to go about it.

I had a Thunderbird 6T with a Watsonian sidecar and what a reliable piece of stuff it was. The only problem I had was when the I did not tighten the dashpot down evenly and it raced like mad. Very embarrassing when going round Marble Arch to join the RAC 24hour rally. In about 1960 I think. I don’t know how the bike would have stood up to the heat here in Thailand.
Your bike looks a cracker although I thought the colour at that time was metallic blue?

Yep 1956 was the year for the model but triumphs would sell you late in 1955 if you paid top dollar it was a clever marketting idea
At the time i was employed at D W THOMAS motorcycle shop in salisbury UK training as a mechanic apprentiship.
I also was mechanic helping RUFUS and TIGER ROSE to become SOUTHERN CENTRE CHAMPIONS in SIDECAR SCRAMBLING GOOD old days.

HELLO , I HAVE A 6T THE SAME MODEL BUT BEING IN NEW ZEALAND IT WAS REGISTERED IN 1956.I CAN AGREE TO RIDING IT IT IS MY FAVORITE BIKE TO RIDE, IT IS FAITHFUL,NO PROBLEMS RIDING IT ALL DAY,AND TOURING FOR TWO TO THREE WEEKS ON END.IT HAS WON TWO N Z NATIONALS IN A ROW,I LIKE TO KEEP IT IMMACULATE,THERE IS ONLY ONE OTHER MODEL OF THIS BIKE IN N Z AND THAT IS OWNED BY A FRIEND IN CHRISTCHURCH.LOVE YOUR BIKE TO REGARDS DAVID
