I have two articles on Alf i found while researching my ancestry (Alf being my 2nd cousin 2x removed) The article in question is titled “Perkolilli Races. High Speeds Attained”. and is from the Western Australian newspaper, Monday 2nd September 1929 on page 11 in which it states in the results section – “State Handicap (10 miles) – A. Aarons (A.J.S.) 120 sec.” I dont know if this answers your question but it might point you in the right direction. I also have the article about the entries and condition of the track leading up to the race.

I have a copy of the article if Audrey would like it and it can also be found on my ancestry.com.au page under her father. I found them on TROVE.
