My great grandfather was Bruce Carter who rode the 1923 Carfield Baby in the SSDT and achieved the Bronze award. It is a great shame the firm failed in 1927 due to financial difficulties but engineering was in his blood.

I know the family fell out over the closure and that Norman and Bruce never really settled their differences.

It would be brilliant to try and get one of these bikes but I know it is a long shot and therefore wanting to spread the word as much as possible.

I just purchased a 1924 model that is in dire need of restoration and parts, if anyone has access to parts, images, drawings or any other information I would very much appreciate some pointers.

I am the Grandson of Norman Carter who designed and built the Carfield Bike. I would appreciate if you have any informatiom of where I could find one to restore as it has many memories of this invention within our family, and it would make me very proud to have one for myself and to bring it back within the Carter family.
