I have an ancient photo of my grandfather and a crowd of other enthusiasts taken in the 1930's before what appears to be a scramling race - probably in East Yorkshire. He is riding an Ariel, registration RH 7143, and I would love to know what happened to the bike. I have a vague hope that it might still be out there somewhere, but I've no idea how to begin looking, other than to try excellent sites like this. Can anyone help? Tim Pearson <pearsonbrown@lineone.net> UK - Very nice site Nigel! Hope to see Joanne next week. Luis. Luis Villazon <luis@luisvillazon.com> Ilfracombe, UK - do you go back a long way - unfortunately I do - found an old photo of me taken outside the spares shop entrance of Allan Jefferies Motorcycles Shipley where I worked at the time [around 1968?] the bike is a 1954 CB34 GOLD STAR the petrol tank was off a Starfire but the guy who bought the Bike from me did a wonderful job of restoring the bike back to original complete with Black/Chrome tank, just as it should be, marvellous. I remember him selling the bike and buying a Reliant 3Wheeler... what a come down. The guys at Jefferies hated the BSA With a vengeance ['cos they were big Triumph Dealers] they were also embarassed when it came to showing prospective buyers the bike, they had to come to me to start the bike as they couldn't [guess this hurt their pride as i am only 5'3" on a good day] wonder where she is now, can't remember the registration number. I do know the lad who bought the bike was not an enthusiast, he broke a rod and old man Jefferies muttered something to me in 4 letter word coded language about not being able to get another flywheel assembly so I got onto one of Mi Mates and fitted a later DB34 which is a shame as the original was unique having Oval Flywheels. ahhhhhhh DEREK HAMMOND <allegrobags@aol.com> halifax, yorks UK - Hi guy`s from Vintage bike this is one of the most wonderful sites with LOTS of general information for each of us sorry to read the discusting adds of nackt or sex idiots and other spam fools on the guestbook I hope once they realize that we are all motorcycle lovers please keep up the good work Frank Frank UK - My wife found site by chance - what luck!! we love the sounds and pics, a great site all round. Clyde Cardy <clyde@cardyservices.co.uk> Maldon, Essex UK - Pictures of my 1952 Zundapp KS601 and 1969 BMW R60US are on my web site. Great site. If only I had been able to keep the bikes I rode when I was younger. I will always miss the 1952 Victoria Bergmeister 350cc I bought for my girl friend to ride.
