We the Pendennis Motorcycle and Light Car Club will be celebating 75 years in motorcycle sport in 2005 with an exhibition in the Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro August-October. We are desperatly seeking out a 1930s AJS R7 OHC 346cc, simular to the machine that works rider G.E.Rowley would have raced at the Pendennis Castle Road Races at Falmouth in 1935 and 1936 setting the outright lap record around the 1.5 mile cliff top circuit.This machine would be the centre piece of the exhibition and we would be delighted to hear from anyone who has one and willing to loan or any contacts where we may be able to source such a machine. I stumbled across this site while looking for information on Ducatis. I found my old bike; it is the Mk 1 500 Pantah pictured just after I sold it. It looked lovely. I would be interested in it's whereabouts these days. Hi, My friend is going to sell his two old motor bikes they are a 1903 KERRY 235cc which is the oldest motorcycle in use in Canada, and a 1905 Riley (Royal Riley) complete with wicker sidecar and has competed in the "Brighton run" Both bikes are in excellent condition and are demonstrated several times per year. please let me know If would put these on your website and I will send you more info and several JPGs. I'm really hoping someone out there might be able to help me. I have an ancient photo of my grandfather and a crowd of other enthusiasts taken in the 1930's before what appears to be a scramling race - probably in East Yorkshire. He is riding an Ariel, registration RH 7143, and I would love to know what happened to the bike. I have a vague hope that it might still be out there somewhere, but I've no idea how to begin looking, other than to try excellent sites like this. Can anyone help?

do you go back a long way - unfortunately I do - found an old photo of me taken outside the spares shop entrance of Allan Jefferies Motorcycles Shipley where I worked at the time [around 1968?] the bike is a 1954 CB34 GOLD STAR the petrol tank was off a Starfire but the guy who bought the Bike from me did a wonderful job of restoring the bike back to original complete with Black/Chrome tank, just as it should be, marvellous. I remember him selling the bike and buying a Reliant 3Wheeler... what a come down. The guys at Jefferies hated the BSA With a vengeance ['cos they were big Triumph Dealers] they were also embarassed when it came to showing prospective buyers the bike, they had to come to me to start the bike as they couldn't [guess this hurt their pride as i am only 5'3" on a good day] wonder where she is now, can't remember the registration number. I do know the lad who bought the bike was not an enthusiast, he broke a rod and old man Jefferies muttered something to me in 4 letter word coded language about not being able to get another flywheel assembly so I got onto one of Mi Mates and fitted a later DB34 which is a shame as the original was unique having Oval Flywheels. ahhhhhhh

Hi Great site takes me back to 1966 when I purchased a new T100ss for £300 from CMW motor cycles of Chichester West Sussex.My friends had T100ss,Honda 450, Norton Dominator,BSA Goldie an older bike than our's We went to all the meetings at Brands hatch,Mike Hailwood and Agustini were winning all the races at the time. Honda and MV.British bikes just could not keep up and they would have a good lead half way round the first lap. Keep up the good work as I know a web site is a lot of work graham

g'day cobber's ! i'm 48 years old and came out from the uk (derby) in 1982. after my tiger cub ran out of sparks once too often in the early 70's i invested in my second bike, a crusader.i bort myself another crusader a couple of weeks ago. it must be one of the earlier ones because it has enormous mud guards. then again they may just be wrong! i'll send you a pic if you like. i,m a fat bastard and the poor thing strugles a bit. i keep getting a distant whiff of 60 mph (about the same as my old one) then it splutters and cuts back in at more sensable velocities. i'm chasing a manual, parts book and bit that conects the carb to the air filter. its got a 22mm(ish)carb. is this right? toodle pip.

Great site - My first bike back in '64 was a C12 given to me by a friend. I've had several BSA's, (do they still call them Beesers?), including a C15, Gold Flash, Rocket Gold Star, Shooting Star, and a Goldie.
