Velocette Mac Pictures
The Velocette MAC was produced from 1946 to 1959 and was a popular touring bike. It was rugged and could withstand the low-grade fuel offered after WWII.
The chain-driven four-speed produced 15 bhp. Many versions were produced for the British Army which had an upgraded clutch and cast-iron fittings on the front brake drum.
After 1948, many updates were installed for the betterment of the brakes, suspension, engine, gearbox, and clutch.
The Velocette was ahead of its time when it arrived on the market in 1946 but quickly was surpassed when it could not adapt quickly enough for a consumer-driven market.
