This rare ‘Big Head’ Bullet is in mostly original condition and shows the patina and character of a historical classic. Starts easily and runs well cruising at 60mph comfortably to keep up with modern day traffic.I could have spent hours polishing the engine casing but this bike was used and enjoyed rather than just put on show. Tyres are new and the rims are mostly good though there is a rough patch on the front that can be seen. The file shows considerable correspondence with The Classic Motor Cycle Club, the owner and the Department of Transport in respect to the rarity of the bike and the importance of retaining its original number-plate.This was achieved in 1988 after additional support from the Royal Enfield owners club and a letter and colour still from Brands Hatch starting grid suggesting that it raced there though I have not been able to find this picture. The bike is kept in a purpose built heated workshop and was run on Aspen pure fuel and not E10 rubbish.

TRIUMPH T120 BONNEVILLE Year 1967 ONE OWNER SINCE 1977.
Engine 650cc Unit construction Registration RLM 408E. Mileage 33500 (since rebuild and new clock in 1977).
Since 1977 I have been the sole owner and rider of this machine for 46 years and have cherished it as a good friend maintaining it in ridable condition and as expected replacing many parts over the years. It had its last complete engine and chassis strip down and rebuild in 2008 before I left London to come and live in Somerset and the tank was resprayed in the correct colours for a 1967 export model. Since that time, it has only been used for pleasure riding and taking part in classic bike runs during the summer.
I purchased this bike in 1977 after the frame of my previous 1969 Bonneville was written off in an accident. The previous owner of RLM 408E had a blown up his engine so my good 1969 engine was put into the rolling chassis and a complete rebuild was undertaken. It was registered with the DVLA and a new V5 was issued with the correct engine and frame numbers. It has electronic ignition timing fitted and an encapsulated rectifier and has a gas flowed 9 stud head.
I have kept all the MOT’s from 1993 to 2016 when they were no longer necessary.
I have so enjoyed having this bike over the last 46 years and most recently taking it on classic bike runs here in the South West, but due to health issues it is now better that I pass it on to a new enthusiastic owner.
I am looking to get around £6500 for it, but will consider any decent offers. The bike is located near Bristol in Somerset.
Serious buyers can contact me with their queries to chris.renty@hotmail.com

***Price Reduced*** A piece of English motorcycling history, built at Meriden, near Coventry and first registered over 50 years ago on 01/04/1972. Two bikes in one, V5C currently shows Historic Vehicle M/C Combination, attracting nil Vehicle Excise Tax. There is nothing to stop the new purchaser returning the machine to single bike use.

Whilst not Concours, the Combination is in great used condition. Owned for the past ten years, with matching frame and engine numbers, the bike has been regularly serviced and improved upon at Matt’s Machine Shop (Abercynon, Wales) and is supplied with full documentation to evidence.

Adapted to Sidecar use 25 years ago, now with lower compression pistons, Avon Triple Duty, square profile, front tyre and smart new sidecar car wheel. Set up with the help of Watsonian Squire Sidecars in the Cotswolds. Updated last year with new chrome wheel rims. A very low and well documented 5k miles with MOT’s, etc.

This has been a great bike with no end of fun trundling along on with grand kids and the like. It is skilled motorcycling at its best. The dying art of combination riding is a joy. Very sorry to see it go, but house move and slimming down of collection forces sale.

The Triumph Combination is currently stored ten miles from its Meriden birthplace, in Hurley, Atherstone, West Midlands, close to the National Motorcycle Museum. It is available to view / test by appointment via my nephew Dan.

It comes with full documentation, V5C, MOT’s, 2 sets of ignition and combination keys, sidecar tonneau and a Triumph Haynes Guide thrown in.

In the first instance, please contact me via e-mail at russtesp@hotmail.com to arrange a viewing / test at its Hurley location. Tallyho!
