This is a super little bike which has had a complete nut and bolt restoration.
I’m sure I’ll miss something out here but, in addition to the very obvious paint job, the bike has had the following work done:
New rims and spokes plus new wheel and fork bearings and relined brake shoes
New cylinder liner and standard piston fitted
New Big End,
All engine and gearbox bearings replaced. Most of the bushes were also replaced.
All internal engine/gearbox and clutch components selected from the four engines I had, so the final components really are just aboutr as good as it gets.
Dynamo/magneto rebuilt by Dave Lindsley, who also supplied the new voltage regulator( total cost, just under £400!)
I still have receipts for much of the above.
As you can see, my aim was to rebuild the bike to a condition where it was mechanically as close to new as possible. There can’t be many ( any?) little New Imp’s of this standard out there.
Things never turn out quite as we plan though and events made me put her on Sorn as soon as she was finished and running. I had her MoT’d and taxed in April this year, but have covered only about 50 miles on her since then. She’s too good just to be stuck in a (very cramped) shed and I’ve decided it’s best to let her go.
The little Halford’s speedo you can see in the pics is NOT included in the sale!
There is a surface scratch about 2 inches long on the tank. This has not gone through to the metal and could, I imagine, be easily polished out.
