Many thanks to Martin Dasek of the Czech Republic for this picture. ESO was started by Jaroslav Simandl in his workshop by making JAP engine spares and copies of entire JAP engines. At this time they were known as "S". Later he designed and produced his own engine. In the 1950's  ESO was nationalized, and Jaroslav continued to be a leading figure. In January 1964, ESO become part of Jawa corporation and of course become very a famous name as a speedway manufacturer.
