1947 Mk1 EMC

Thanks to John for these pics of his 1947 Mk1 EMC.  He says "I love this machine for probably all the wrong reasons not because it is the fastest or quietest or most ecomical as its none of these but because of the passion and the non logical way that Dr Joe Ehrlich built his machine and to his mind it would take the world by storm. The machine is so elaborate in it's specification, no one else would dream of doing this on a two stroke machine in this era. To sum up Joe Ehrlich built his machines in the way that enthusiasts now restore machines with total disregard of cost."

Mk1 Specification
Duplex cradel frame with mag bronze backbone
Air Dowty forks
Vincent wheels(twin drun frount single rear
BTH racing magneto
Burman middle weight gear box
His own passion to drive the machine, a 350cc split single, with all this costing more than a 650cc twin four stroke of its day, shows you why the total uk sales were in the region of 200 machines and there is I believe only 6 or 7 running examples of this model in the uk.
