1948 EMC 350cc

This extremely unusual and unique machine was displayed on the Stonehenge VMCC Stand at the 2005 Bristol Classic Bike Show.  Its a 1948 EMC 350cc based on a split single cylinder.  This means that it uses two cylinders and pistons with a common combustion chamber. One cylinder contains the exhaust ports, the other the transfer ports.  This particular bike was on display at Earl's Court in 1948.  It was Joe Erlich's personal bike and was the only one made with an all alloy engine.  I felt it looked so much more modern than a 1948 bike.
