1922 Carfield Model Baby K

It's always nice to see a bike you've never heard of before - and here is one such an animal.  It's a 1922 Carfield model Baby K.  It's driven by a 147cc Villiers two stroke engine, and a 2-speed Albion gearbox and belt driven final drive.  It was built in Windmill Lane, Smethwick, Birmingham by Mr Carter and Mr Fielding (hence the name Carfield).  The company dissolved in 1927 due to the non-payment of rates to the local council.  This one with frame no 202 is the oldest of eight known survivors.  One Baby K ridden by Mr Brian Carter completed the Scottish ISDT in 1923 covering in excess of 1000 miles and gaining a bronze medal.  This bike was a private entry at the 2005 Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show in Stafford.
