Seeley Matchless 500cc

This is the first solo racing bike built early in 1966 by Colin Seeley.  This was prior to obtaining the engine manufacturing rights  from the AMC factory later that year.  Thereafter all race motorcylces produced were known as Seeley.  This machine, first ridden in in 1966 by the then King of Brands, Derek Minter, followed by John Blanchard
in 1967, and then finally Moon Eyes John Cooper who rode this bike to untold success competing in the the Northwest 200, IOM TT and other international evbents.  JC has owned this bike for over 30 years - and he is looking very comfortable on it at the 2006 Festival of 1000 Bikes.
