1983 Honda CB1000 Custom |

| Thanks to John Muir for these pictures of his bike. It is a a 1983 Honda CB1000 Custom, imported from USA in ’98. It is listed as DUALrange gearbox, that is glorified for High and low ratio secondary gearbox. A bit like a Landrover with the 2 gear levers. It is effectively 10 speed but you would have a sore ankle if you used it like that. John just selects low for City/town work and heels it into high when above 40 mph. 2 ranges of 5 speed. = 10 speed. These were only made in 1983 for 1 year and for the USA market only. The damn thing weighs 285Kgs! The shaft drive exits out the R/H side because of the extra G/box. | ||
