A unique 1949 350cc Douglas works development racing machine.  From 1949 to 1952 it was raced by the Douglas company at many British short circuits, ridden by Franz Pados. You can see a picture of Franz aboard this very bike at http://eppynt.150m.com. As well as using the square headed race engine, various works prepared 90+ engines were also fitted to this machine.

From 1954 to 1965 it was owned by Archie Allen, a Douglas Dealer in Bristol From 1966 to 1975 the racer was put into road trim by the owner Norman Camamile, when he used it for everyday use.

A fascinating bike, that deservedly won the prize for Most Technical Interest at the 2004 Bristol Classic Bike Show. Displayed by the North Wiltshire British MCC.
