Csepel & Danuvia Motorcycles

Csepel started in around 1922-23 in Hungary.  ("Csepel" is an island in the Danube, where the factory was located).  Their first real bike was a 125cc in 1948.  They tried to laos make a 250cc machine but these were a bit too expensive for the Hungarians at that time.  With the arrival of the Socialist era, the Csepel factory was forced to change to the manufacture weapons for the Soviet Union, so the motorcycle production was relocated and renamed "Danuvia". The same engine, but different styling.
